Diane’s passion to improve our food industry through humane, transparent, and regenerative practices inspired her to transform her family’s third-generation, conventional agriculture business into one of the nation’s most respected and successful social enterprises. Her accomplishment and innovations are echoed within the core values of Hemptress.
Hemptress works to bridge the gap between highly efficacious, results-driven skincare and organic skincare. When Chandlar was diagnosed with a genetic detoxing disorder and prescribed lifestyle adjustments to facilitate detoxification, Dr. Aruna Tummala recommended a complete purge of all cosmetics that included non-natural ingredients. Chandlar quickly discovered that her favorite skincare products and the cult favorites found in her girlfriend’s vanities were filled with ingredients unfit for optimal health. Surprisingly, even products flaunting the label “clean” are often filled with petroleum derivatives, synthetic preservatives, and various known toxins. As Chandlar manages her lifestyle to enjoy good health despite her genetic disorder, she is concerned about the health of her community members, who may not experience immediate symptoms indicating poor health but suffer from various long-term health conditions accumulating from a lifetime of living in a modern, toxin-filled world. Strauss’s mission is to transform how we think about health and wellness to include the products we apply to our skin.
